Lunarium is a mysterious cosmic horror-themed exploration game that has you investigating an abandoned lunar research facility where a fatal experiment caused a dimensional tear. You find yourself there alone, a survivor with no clue about the incident, trying to work out what happened through clues, audio recordings, and mysterious data bits. The facility’s power and life support depend on the moon’s phases; you will see the lights flicker and creatures come out of the rift during a total eclipse of the moon. At these times, your reliance has to be on stealth and makeshift tools. You may also like Tormentum II.

Conversely, the full moon phase will restore electricity and make it possible for you to gain access to confined areas and unearth valuable information. Your “suit integrity” system is constantly monitoring the oxygen level, heat, and radiation exposure; you have to gather supplies, fix up your suit, and harness solar energy to keep up with the operations of your tools. There is a “rift anchor” tool which allows one to temporarily patch up the dimensional tears, showing up hidden paths or hiding the dangers, but each use of the tool will eat up the limited power cells that are available. The game is set in five scary sections of the station: the Command Module, the Bio-dome, the Engineering Bay, the Quantum Lab, and the Abyssal Wing, each of them full of puzzles that can only be solved through the manipulation of the environment, strange creatures, and tragic human remains.
