Summoner’s Gambit is a strategic, turn-based roguelike game in which you lead a party of warriors who have been summoned from all parts of the multiverse, combining deck-building features with tactical positioning and resource management to create a challenging and satisfying experience. The main gameplay loop is based on “summon synergy”, requiring you to select units from a continuously rotating selection of classes (mages, knights, archers, rogues), each of which has special abilities, elemental affinities, and cooldowns, and then place them on a grid-based battlefield to deal with the enemy’s formations. An “essence economy” monitors your summoning resources, which you gain as a result of fighting, and you use them to buy reinforcements and power-ups. In each playthrough, new “artefacts” are introduced that provide permanent bonuses or involve trade-offs, thus increasing the game’s replay value. The “gambit system” lets you set conditional AI behaviours for your units, enabling actions to be automatically carried out according to the enemy’s health or position. Since each run ends with permadeath, which resets the current attempt but unlocks new summon cards for later tries, Summoner’s Gambit offers a deep, tactical, and highly replayable strategy experience.
