Dead Grid puts a totally fresh spin on the traditional roguelike deckbuilder. It is now a tense, turn-based infiltration simulator in a cyberpunk metropolis overrun by zombies, where your deck represents a meticulously selected arsenal of cybernetic implants, gadget blueprints, and tactical maneuvers for outsmarting the undead. Every turn, you take “Command Cards” to guide your operative around procedurally generated city blocks and use your actions to hack security terminals for shortcuts, set up trap noises to distract zombies, or perform silent takedowns. A fundamental strategic twist is the “Scavenge” mechanic: when killing zombies or looting buildings, their equipment is added to your deck in the form of new cards that are often situational, so you have to keep adapting your deck and making choices between a lightweight, stealth-focused brush or heavy-force weaponry. Your character’s cyberware grants you special skills that persist after each run, e.g., seeing through walls or using a grappling hook for vertical movement. At the same time, death is always certain after every fight, so only a combination of well-thought experiences and cleverly used tools will allow one to survive the dead grid.
