Blade Strangers gives players the chance to battle with favorite indie heroes in a colorful, crossover-style, 2D arcade game with a focus on 4-button fighting, where it is easy to learn, and deep if one chooses, and also exciting with fast-paced combat elements. “Skill Linking” is the core element in the game where for each character, there is a set of unique special moves and “Stranger” skills can be “Skill Link” together into very damaging combos through an easy to understand and deep at the same time input scheme (i.e. light, heavy, skill, and special buttons that help in making an attack move smooth and fluid). The “Burst System” allows you to interrupt or break your rival’s combo, spending some burst, which gives both players a chance of coming back into play from a neutral situation. At the same time, the “Assist System” enables you to carry out tag-team tactics. In terms of features, besides the normal play modes like story mode, where characters travel through a different world of the multiverse, you can find ranked matches and casual matches that support online play with rollback netcode. Also, a feature that will probably come in very handy during the training phase or just as a way to see your best performances is the ‘replay theater’. There are also other play modes: “Tutorial Mode” covers the beginner and advanced players from the simple moves to canceling; “Challenge Mode” presents individual character training; “Survival Mode” is where the player battles a never-ending stream of enemies until s/he gets defeated; and “Training Mode” comes with frame data & hitbox viewers.
