Witch’s Doll is a very gloomy and atmospheric horror and puzzle-solving game, where players become a cursed porcelain doll that a vengeful witch has brought to life. The game is set in a labyrinthine, decaying mansion filled with creepy, sentient puppets and grotesque animated toys, and its gameplay is mainly based on stealth, agility, and clever manipulation of the environment. Being the fragile doll, players have to make sure that they don’t get spotted by the monstrous guardians while they are solving the intricate, clockwork-inspired puzzles so that they can find out the dark secrets of the witch’s past.

The doll’s delicate body suggests it can break if damaged, forcing players to rely on evasion, distraction, and the use of smaller objects (such as crawling into a music box or hijacking a wind-up soldier) to advance. The mansion changes and rearranges itself, just like in Resident Evil, with every playthrough, so it becomes a point that no two runs can be the same. A special “Thread System” gives players the chance to stitch themselves back again after taking damage—but only when they have collected enough needle and thread from the surroundings.
