Tomboy Adventure gameplay would be a colourful and energetic carnival of true childhood freedom, which would be launched on a foundation of scrappy, improvised exploration and sincere friendship. The game’s main activity will be exploring a large, semi-open world map depicting a suburban neighborhood-from the sunlit dead-end streets and yards to the forbidden construction sites and winding creek beds. Instead of a traditional quest log, you would be doing this by posting up hand-drawn maps and talking about rumours on your bedroom wall.

The game progression is not done by leveling up but through social and craftsmanship skills; for example, you can do a favor for a friend and then ask him to join your treehouse club or you can collect stuff like a rusty bike chain, an old inner tube, and some loose bolts from a garage and then make some stuff like a better rope swing, a pedal-less go-kart, or a cork-shooting “zooka” for the epic neighborhood cap-gun wars.

The challenges are social and environmental puzzles; for instance, you may have to figure out the order of drainpipes and shed roofs to move up to a coveted vantage point, or you may have to mediate a dispute between your friends to keep your adventuring party from splitting up before you can finally challenge the rival “club” for control of the vacant lot fort.

Still, it is a low-stakes, heartfelt, and sincere adventure that would be a perfect representation of a long summer day in which the whole world is your playground, every scrap is a potential treasure, and your friendships are the most powerful tool in your inventory.
