See, that’s a dorky crocodile running around stealing coconuts, fully embodied by you in the game Crococo. The blend of physics-based platforming, fruit-flinging mayhem, and vibrant exploration makes for a wacky, family-friendly adventure. The main game loop, in some sense, is “coconut launching”; you have to aim, load, and launch your crocodile character in the air, make him bounce off palm trees, rebound off trampoline mushrooms, and break crates to get scattered coconuts. Different levels require you to make very precise angle and power changes to find secret spots and get high-score targets. Your “tail whip” is both a melee weapon and a method of interacting with the environment. With it, you can knock down barriers, flip switches, or even attack aggressive crabs and boars. With the “sticky tongue,” you can grab hanging vines, moving platforms, or even flying fruit, and then swing yourself across the gaps or pull yourself toward the collectibles. The narrative of exploration is through the “Coconut Archipelago, ” a lively, colorful area consisting of four separate islands: the Sunny Shores, the Tangled Mangroves, the Volcanic Peaks, and the Glowing Grotto. Every island is a revelation with hidden parts, time trials, and “fruit frenzies” where you have to collect a certain number of fruits before they disappear. In the “costume shop,” you get to deck your croc out in all manner of outrageous hats, glasses, and skins with patterns; each one indirectly gives a minor advantage, like quicker sliding or higher jumping. Your “stamp book” is a record of the medals (bronze, silver, or gold) that you get for completing each level, prompting you to play them again. Multiplayer “croc race” mode is a free-for-all with up to four players competing in a funtastic, item-laden obstacle course featuring banana peels, exploding coconuts, and speed-boost shells.
