MustScream is a psychological horror game where the main character’s mind is shown to be one divided. The player does not fight a character or flee, but by means of gameplay, they have to go through a changing, fantastic dream world to get a memory that is not only forgotten but also very traumatic. The fundamental feature is a “Psychic Resonance” system that allows the player to interact with objects and feel the past emotions and events. Still, after each touch, the sanity meter is lowered, and the world gets changed with the growth of the fear to the terrifying and symbolic manifestations—walls that are like a heartbeat, can bleed through your eyes, and the callings can be heard from the darkness.

The unfolding of the plot is intricately linked to the protagonist’s psychological disintegration, as you are compelled to face these distortions head-on; in one instance, the author could demand that you remain stationary while a horrific representation of your guilt attacks you to demonstrate that you have acknowledged it, or you could be reordering the components of the nightmare you keep having in a particular way so that its change and your advance occurred. The game is constantly autosaving, but it also turns your worst fears into different horrors. It does so by analyzing the small decisions you make at the beginning.

That way, it makes sure that in different playthroughs, you are not faced with the same personal demons, which makes MustScream a profoundly disturbing and introspective trip through the cage of your own mind, where the only exit is the one you fear the most.
