Delivering intense, wave-based cooperative gameplay that centres around survival hordes of grotesque, mutated creatures known as Zeds, Killing Floor lets you choose from several character classes, each with unique skills and weapon proficiencies- like the Medic who heals a teammate back to health in only a few seconds and the Commando whom one utilizes to take down enemies with automatic weapons. The gameplay is very much on teamwork and strategic positioning, where waves become harder and harder as time progresses and culminate in a final boss fight against one of the game’s challenging, monstrous leaders. The periods between the waves are marked with a visit to the trader, who sells various weapons, ammo, and armour available for purchase or upgrade, forcing a player to quickly make hard decisions about resource management.

With a dynamic difficulty so that enemies not only grow stronger but also in variety – from the simple charging Berserker to the projectile-hurling Sirens – the player has had to adjust his or her strategy to survive. Dark, atmospheric maps filled with all manner of creepy ambient sound effects and lighting make Killing Floor a survival nightmare of high stakes, quick reflexes, strategy, and communication as the player seeks ways to survive the unstoppable onslaught.
