In Voor De Kroon, players take on the role of a mediaeval diplomat in a sprawling kingdom broken up into political factions, where turn-based strategy, courtly intrigue, and dynastic legacy combine into a deep grand strategy experience driven by narrative. At the heart of the loop is “crown influence.” You must sail the perilous waters of noble houses, clergy, and foreign powers, balancing your own ambition against the needs of the realm, as every alliance struck, promise made, or secret uncovered alters the balance of power. You lead a council of five advisors (spymaster, marshal, treasurer, chancellor, and confessor), each with their own agenda and loyalty metres; ignoring their advice risks rebellion, but empowering them too much weakens your own authority. The “dynasty system” allows you to track your bloodline, arrange marriages, educate heirs, and manage succession, with each heir inheriting certain traits from their upbringing.
