CURE – A Hospital Simulator will put you in the blood-splattered scrubs of a young doctor in a dying, poorly funded hospital, where you have to make hard decisions about who gets treated, how to ration resources, and organs actually getting worse over time are all part of the system management challenge. The main thing you do is use this “vital cascade” mechanism. Patients can have up to seven types of failures (heart, kidney, brain, lung, liver, blood clotting, and psychological trauma from sudden death scenarios), and sometimes, when you fix one thing, another goes wrong. Your hospital floor is a constant, aging map of transformed wards. Each bed, ventilator, or autoclave gets “filth fatigue” over time and must be cleaned or fixed by giving the task to overworked orderlies who have hidden stats for empathy and exhaustion. The tampering with illegal goods system is vital to getting ahead: you barter with a mineral of your choice, untraceable medicines, or patient data logs with a constantly changing group of shady characters (ex-military medic, pharmaceutical sales rep turned alcoholic, AI doctor gone rogue) for illegal stuff like cloned blood printers, brain zappers, or cryo-stasis chambers that stop death timers. Diagnosis is a game within a game of “symptom triangulation”; you have to match patients’ unclear speech, vital signs change, and environmental hints (mold in air ducts, contaminated IV batches, flickering MRI results) within a countdown time that gets longer with every wrong guess. A live “outbreak hex” mechanism shows a virus mutation map to the hospital map; depending on which rooms you lock down or sterilize, the pathogens, like airborne, bloodborne, or neurotropic, evolve so that you have to make quarantine decisions instantly, which in turn affect the staff morale and public trust indicators.
