Unknown Host is a very tense, multiplayer survival-horror game that also challenges the traditional concept by secretly giving one of the players the role of the Host—a being of the parasites that pretend to be humans and have hidden powers to change the environment and infect others. The game story occurs in a huge, procedurally generated location with revolting bio-mechanical creatures. The human survivors there must cooperate to fix the systems, collect the needed goods for their escape, and discover what kind of experiments the dark facility has conducted. The Host is also there.

However, he is very incognito and is thus able to sabotage the work of the teammates subtly and spread the infection, or if given the opportunity, he can transform himself into a hunting monster. Human players need to decide how much they can trust others and how much they should be paranoid.
