Smoking Simulator is a very provocative and illogical walking simulator that takes the simple and ordinary activity of a person who smokes as a portal to reflect loneliness, memory, and the minimal communication humans can have with one another, unspoken. Playing the game means being a first-person through one’s eyes to experiencing an atmospheric storyline through a series of beautiful and empty locations, a rain-covered bus stop at 3 AM, a deserted rooftop showing a sleeping city, and a closed-down diner with an empty parking lot, traveling by foot most of the time. You are the leader of a nameless hero who has nothing but a pack of cigarettes and a cheap lighter. Your only aim is to smoke. The main loop constitutes a meditative sequence of lighting, breathing in, and breathing out, with each cigarette functioning as a time limit of a vignette of self-examination.
