Prime of Flames reignites the competitive shooter genre by plunging players into a mythological warzone where gods and mortals clash, and the winner is the one who better combines gunplay and divine, cooldown-based abilities. Gameplay mixes tactical shooting with MOBA-style power usage in a very energetic way; you choose a “Prime” from the lineup of legendary warriors and deities, such as a sun-forged gunslinger or a shadow-wielding assassin, each with a different primary weapon and three active abilities, ranging from destructive area-of-effect flames to personal shields and teleportation dashes. The battles take place in an elemental arena, a forest on fire where flames are spreading and cause damage over time, a tundra with slippery ice influencing movement, and the environment itself interacts with the abilities used, thus new emergent tactical possibilities are created. One of the main innovations is the “Divine Spark” system. When you defeat enemies and capture objectives, you load up a team meter which can be used by one player to temporarily turn into an “Avatar” state, get powerful abilities and become a raid boss that the other team has to unite and take down. Team composition and synergy play a vital role; a perfectly-timed smoke screen from a trickster god can be the opening for a hunter Prime’s sniper shot.
