Poppy Playtime is a first-person narrative-driven horror game that tells the story of the main character across its various chapters. The game turns what was once a toy factory into a dungeon filled with all sorts of industrial stuff and clever, hungry monsters that are chasing you. You are a former worker at Playtime Co. who has gone back to the factory that has been left to rot. You have as your only weapon the GrabPack which is a backpack that has two long and retractable hands that mainly to help you in solving puzzles in the environment, you can also do other stuff like playing with toys that are some distance away from you, and most importantly you can carry electricity from one place to another i.e. power doors and machinery by using this tool. Playing the game is about three activities, which are very carefully done: exploration, puzzle-solving, and stealth, to ensure survival. You explore various kinds of places that are like production floors that have been left to rot, different kinds of administrative offices, and worker tunnels. You learn the dark history of the company through VHS tapes and scraps of paper, all the time, the toys that scare you and are alive are around you. They are extremely creative in their viciousness. At the beginning of the story, the focus is on learning to use the GrabPack while at the same time trying to get away from Huggy, who will chase you according to the script. As the story progresses, you get some more colored GrabPack hands that allow you to have more types of puzzle interaction, which means that you have to do a better job in managing your limited resources against enemies that are more intelligent and more persistent. The creators of this horror game drew the latter from the fact that childhood innocence and the industrial nightmare are what the factory’s mascots represent.
