As in No Man’s Sky, gamers start on a massive procedurally generated galaxy and can traverse somewhere near infinite locations. The game expands from the moment players are left on a random planet to start repairing their spaceship and collecting resources. Every planet has its own landscapes, climate, and fauna, which are described as calm or even dangerous. Resources are constantly depleting in the games; hence, game players are forced to look for oxygen, fuel, and other materials that will help them survive adverse conditions on the planets or even fend off any dangerous creatures in the games. Players also advance their equipment and the ship they use so that they are able to explore various star systems, mine for various resources, and uncover hidden alien histories, which reveal the history of this game’s galaxy.

There is also creativity and customization within the gameplay. Players can build colonies on the planets they like, build elaborate structures for bases, and make a player’s presence in the game and the whole galaxy. Movement is as smooth when moving from planetary surfaces into outer space without loading, making players feel like they are in space. The involvement with different factions, buying and selling resources, and fighting pirates while flying through space becomes more interesting.

Multiplayer elements allow players to navigate, buy/sell, or even work together with others, which also brings into the game a social aspect of the seemingly lonely vastness. These can range from exploring new planets, translating an alien language, or even incorporating new technologies whenever they want into the game. No Man’s Sky delivers an experience that changes with the player’s desire no matter how many times one sits for the game again.
