MindsEye takes players on an unforgettable journey through a psychological maze where the perception is not fixed, and the reality is changed at will, thus combining elements of detective puzzle-solving with mind-bending action. Being a psychic detective rogue possessing a “Third Eye” of unknown origin, you are wandering through a dark neo-noir world that is divided into different layers of consciousness, each revealing the hidden secrets, new versions of past time, or horrifying testimonials no one else can understand. The game method is mostly about moving the surroundings via your psychic powers: stopping the time to look closely into the murder scene, using your mind power to bring the broken things back to their original shape, or even becoming like other people’s and changing their decisions by interrupting their memories.

Fighting in this game is a confusing combination of the battle of minds and changing reality by escaping, where your opponents turn into your fears. The difference between a perpetrator and a hallucination becomes unclear. The city itself is a living puzzle; the streets change their places when you don’t see them, and the buildings do not necessarily exist in every state of mind. Every move you make causes the story to be split even more, giving rise to various conclusions, depending on how sane you are—if you overuse your gifts, the world might become a crazy place. Accompanied by a ghostly, synthesizer-rich tune and a visual scheme alternating from hard truth to dreamlike, MindsEye is not only a test of your abilities but also a new way of thinking.
