Midnight Taco is a brightly-lit, neon-drenched, retro-futuristic cooking simulator with a wild, fast, and frenetic pace where players accept the role of late-night taco vendor serving hungry people in a cyberpunk city that is full of hustle and bustle. The game measures time management and rhythm-based mechanics, which demand from players to cut ingredients, grill meat, and pack tacos with accuracy—all while taking care of customers’ wild, funny requests that become more and more, from carnitas de res classic to crazy science-fiction-like recipes of “quantum salsa” or “cyber-nachos.” The food truck is the twist; it’s your vehicle that has so many ridiculous upgrades, like a flamethrower grill or a robotic tortilla press, which adds a layer of fun.

The night goes on and on, and the difficulties increase with it, makers of street racers, AI customers that are mischievous, and also the occasional alien tourists, who have come just to get something to eat. Having such an addictive loop of cooking, upgrading, and surviving through the midnight rush, Midnight Taco feels like a deliciously chaotic experience that is half Overcooked and half Hotline Miami.
