Manivore is a mind-blowing and immersive survival game in which the players need to find the right balance between attack and defense. In this game, they will be put in the role of one of the few survivors who are lost in the wasteland after it has been populated by terribly frightened and awful-looking Manivores—humanoids that look for their prey’s fear, not only their flesh.

The game has a protagonist who mainly gets through the game by looting, crafting homemade weapons, and strategizing traps. At the same time, he must not alert the Manivores to his presence and flee as far as possible. Dynamic weather, with its random changes and an aggressive day-night cycle, are the two significant factors that can quickly change the game: the day offers some relaxation. Stealthy adventurism can be done, but the night is the realm of sudden danger as the Manivores are much faster, and the more aggressive part of their nature comes to the surface.

That’s not all; Manivore is enriched with the “Fright System” feature, which emphasizes the disturbing aspect of the story. So when the main character is faced with traumatic events, he slowly goes insane, and this is, in turn, the beginning of unusual visions, vibrations, and wrong audio signals wrongly recognized as real threats, which is a very grey area.

Game Creator’s vision of multiplying makes the game more suspenseful and asymmetrical because players are as strong as Manivore and chase person survivors, but in reality, not when they are in the mood to do so. With its harsh treatment of players, atmospheric background music, and the scene changing occasionally, Manivore offers the odd, unexpected sensation of constant dread where each choice poses an actual danger of being the last one.
