IGI 2 Covert Strike is the sequel of the first IGI game. It includes the same idea and is factually improved compared to its first part. It offers perfect gameplay, combining elements of sharpshooting and sneaking. In this sequel, players are to return to the role of David Jones, a highly trained assassin from the Institute for Geotactical Intelligence (IGI), to perform several more tactical operations to eliminate threats to the world. The different levels are huge and non-linear, and there are multiple ways and approaches to achieve the actual missions available in the game. Of the changes that the improved AI behaviors generate, the enemies become tougher through the orchestration of tactics, pitfalls, and even reacting to actions of the players with high difficulty levels.

Players have at their fingertips a vast array of firearms and gadgets, including silenced handguns, sniper rifles, high-tech hacking devices, and surveillance equipment, which allows combining various goals in numerous manners. The addition of the multiplayer mode increases competitiveness by providing a tactical team breakdown of play-based scenarios. IGI 2 is a little better than the first one in terms of graphics, more realistic and detailed playing fields, and a strong plot to make you cover different terrains of the globe, from the forests to the mountains and into hi-tech security complexes.
