On the other hand, the task is far from easy; Granny is hyper-aware of any noise the player makes, such as banging down a table or creaking a floorboard, and will pursue them nonstop once alerted. The house is a claustrophobic maze characterized by locked doors, hidden passages, and puzzles that require solving items scattered around the environment, such as keys, planks, and tools.
This game forces players into a ridiculous situation where they have to hide under beds or inside wardrobes to avoid Granny and strategy in figuring out how they should most probably escape at an efficient rate. When caught by Granny, the player gets knocked unconscious and then wakes up to wake up the next day with one less chance of escaping. The tension has been heightened because Granny has set traps all around the house, including bear traps, which will slow down the player.
The random placement of items ensures that no two attempts at escape will ever be the same, and a sense of hallucinatory atmosphere-thrilling sounds and the unsettling humming of Granny have heightened the tension with players frantically looking for a way out. In this scenario, Granny is pure survival, where shots need not be fired, but patience, wits, and nerves of steel can be used to fight back and save the granny from the lad’s wicked games.
