Forgotten Villa narrates the story of a lone photographer occupying an old, crumbling, and overgrown villa. The gameplay is a calm, atmospheric exploration and discovery experience told mostly from the perspective of your old-fashioned camera. There is no fighting, no pick-up items, no talking, merely the peaceful activity of seeing. At the same time, you walk around a big, dilapidated mansion and its abandoned gardens, taking pictures that show the story of the family who lived there in the past. The main point of the game is the camera, a perfectly recreated film camera that makes you focus, set the aperture, and take the photo manually.
