Game Overview:
Ryn, a vestige, is the character the players will be controlling in Echoes of the End, a beautifully made, Iceland-like world. Ryn is capable of using magic as well as swordsmanship. The gameplay is a combination of three core elements: smooth traversal, environmental puzzles, and strategic combat. Among these elements, the developers have given their highest priority to magic combat.
One could witness the beauty of the area from the burning lava fields to the snow-covered mountains. Such an exploration was made possible by the use of double jumps, gravity manipulation, and dashing mechanics. Besides, these mechanics also help in making each chapter new and interesting.
Even though the combat is energetic and pretty, it is highly reliant on the use of magic. In a game like this, gravity control and illusions are the main ways through which the player can get rid of opponents. Sword combos can only be used for a short time, thus there is no room for animation locking.
The environmental puzzles are the main attraction of the game. The developers have mixed Ryn and Abram’s powers in such a way that they present challenging and, at the same time, rewarding brain-teasers. It is a tiny game of approximately 14–15 hours and ten chapters. However, it is not lacking in atmosphere, traversal variety, and narrative depth.
