EBOLA VILLAGE sends players on a survival-horror mission in which every single decision could mark the difference between life and ghastly death in a world destroyed by a pandemic. Transposed into a forgotten African village that the Ebola virus eroded, the game merges psychological horror with shields-down realism to compel the player to search for necessary supplies, escape dangerous areas, and make difficult moral choices, such as whether to help sufferers of the disease or to leave them to their destiny. The experience of the game is perpetually fraught: on top of the dynamic infection system, an error in judgment (e.g., drinking unsafe water, being in contact with the dead, or getting near a coughing NPC) could lead to a slow and ever-more painful deterioration.

The setting is a character in its own right: desolate huts, blood-stained medical centers, and ghostly, fog-covered woods boost the state of emergency and fear. Very few weapons at hand and no “super” power illusion make fighting just a desperate last stand; hence, concealing oneself, quarantining, and makeshift medical procedures are the only viable solutions. With ominous sound effects, repulsive body-horror visuals, and a mode of play where the player can’t be revived, EBOLA VILLAGE doesn’t serve as just a game but as a deeply disturbing experiment of the means of survival against an all-powerful, invisible enemy.
