In the Dice of Kalma pc game, you enter the broken spirit of a fallen oracle, where fate is a weapon and every throw changes the world; it combines turn-based combat with a dice-rolling RPG system. Fate dice are the main loop; you can only use those abilities that give you the right combinations of six dice representing different celestial forces (Fire, Frost, Storm, Shadow, Light, and Void). At the beginning of each move, you are free to pick and throw a set of those dice you like best; based on their results, power, accuracy, and other effects of used skills are set, resulting in the battlefield dynamics changing all the time. You can also change dice through “fate threads,” which are very limited resources that give you chances to roll the dice again or to lock some or flip the dice over. Combats are done within the grid-type battlefield; positioning and the environment (like lava pits, pieces of ice, and shadow zones) are the factors that determine dice outcomes. You can wander through the “Temple of Kalma,” which is a dungeon with multiple layers where the rooms are connected and can change during the game (procedurally generated labyrinth). The temple is split into six wings corresponding to different celestial energies and has a variety of hidden puzzle rooms, dangerous traps, and fragments of myth. “Karma system” is a system where all your actions are recorded. Doing virtuous deeds gives more chances to reroll, whereas choosing cruel options results in getting a better base dice number but also receiving fate penalties. “Multiplayer” consists of “duel mode,” as you and your friend alternate taking rolls for throwing the dice to either attack or defend and casting spells. Without “permadeath” but with “carryover of karma,” which will affect future runs, Dice of Kalma for pc delivers a completely distinct, fate-related tactical gameplay experience where each throw is the climax of a story.
