Dead In Bermuda is a harsh, but deeply personal, survival management game that has decided to abandon the usual macro-scale city rebuilding in favor of the micro-scale psychological and physical decay of eight plane crash survivors who found themselves on a strange island. Every single day is a very detailed, thoroughly tragic triage of both the resources that are running out and the sanity of your party that is falling apart, as you choose what the survivors should do, be it gathering coconuts, going into the scary jungle, or trying to fix their shelter as a last resort. At the same time, you have to be quite watchful of the frenetic network of individual stats that contain hunger, fatigue, morale and injuries that can worsen until death can result from them.

The island is like a person, getting to know it through scary, text-based meetings that give you the option to do morally questionable things with permanent results, where to make a survivor happy by saving their life in return, you may have to take another’s hope. In contrast to the simple survival games, the main character or heroine, for instance, will not be able to defeat the enemy by power but only by using her social skills, allowing the depressed character to be inefficient and while a motivated one can invent a new tool.

This way, your camp can become a human drama autoclave with the greatest danger being not the island’s beasts but the slow crushing of despair. It is a captivating, harsh game where the player assumes the role of a leader having to weigh each decision seriously with no easy solutions in sight.
