BRIO World – Railway is an attractive, open-ended digital game where a classic wooden railway system gets a virtual reincarnation. It combines track design, train operation, and a bit of puzzle-solving in a fun way, appealing to all age groups. The gameplay is basically about the design and layout of tracks. You can move all different kinds of wooden pieces track, switch, bridge, and station freely around the bright colored, interactive play mat to make trains follow through beautiful surroundings such as forests, towns, tunnels, and cliffy seacoasts. Each locomotive has a different speed, capacity, and sound; you can also make the train by coupling different kinds of cars (passenger, cargo, or special purpose). The “cargo delivery” feature introduces a mild objective component; you will be transporting different loads to stations or landmarks so that you will unlock new track pieces, decorations, and play areas. The game world can be explored through five unique play areas: Countryside, Harbor, Mountain Pass, Winter Village, and Grand Station, each offering different themed components and environmental interactions, such as drawbridges, loading cranes, and animal crossings. The “interactive object” feature permits you to tap on buildings, trees, or characters to initiate an animation, a sound, or a little event, providing rewards for curiosity and trying out things. “Multiplayer” comprises a “co-op build” mode where two players can work together and create a track layout at the same time. As there is no permadeath, only a “collection tracker” records all the pieces unlocked, BRIO World Railway provides an enjoyable, relaxing, and imaginative construction adventure that never runs out of possibilities.
