Battlefield Hardline is a game of the Battlefield series, and the game has picked up an entirely new path, i.e. from one on the theme of military warfare to one on the crimes and robberies depicted in many police shows and action films. Visceral Games, in collaboration with DICE, developed and launched Hardline in 2015, which became a game that presents a fresh story-driven single-player campaign that mimics a TV series to the core, with an episodic structure that leaves viewers with cliffhangers between episodes and character development as the central theme. Mendoza, the protagonist, is a Miami detective who is very efficient while handling the issues of corruption, betrayal, and bank robberies. Stealth and strategy are the game’s core, so players can pass the situations either non-lethally by using tools like tasers, handcuffs, and zip ties or by going all-in with their guns for a more action-based experience.

The Battlefield Hardline multiplayer gaming experience will still be of the team-based gameplay in the series. Still, it will also cover the grid-based city arena with a professional police and crime theme. Unique new modes like Heist and Hotwire come up with twists and the other traditional Battlefield ones. In Heist, criminals aim to rob a bank and then escape with the money to their desired hideout, but the opposite faction of the police ensures they fail. Thus, it is a contest where criminals are the victors. Hotwire is all about stealing cars and then driving them at high speed in a city full of sharp turns and buildings offering cover.

Apart from that, some weapons and gadgets can be used by both sides and are specifically for these law enforcer groups and criminals, such as grappling guns, gas masks, and armoured cars. While some fans were unhappy about the game’s ceasing warfare combat, its advanced technique, rapid gameplay, ability to move in the vertical direction, and interacts with the environment helped Battlefield Hardline stand out as a genuinely unprecedented and outstanding game in the series.
