ARAYA is a first-person psychological horror game set in a haunted Thai hospital, where players solve a mystery by seeing it through the eyes of three different characters—each of them getting a new, terrifying experience. ARAYA is not like the usual horror games that are heavy on action; it focuses on the atmosphere and the story. Thus, the players are completely captivated by the spine-chilling place that is filled with creepy sounds, flickering lights, and frightening ghostly figures. The game is a mixture of searching, puzzle-solving, and stealth as the players discover fragmented clues and keep away from the evil spirit of Araya, whose power increases the more you explore the dark side of the hospital.

The non-linear plot makes players cobble together the truth from various viewpoints, with each character’s story providing additional facets of horror. The number of jump scares is very small, but they are quite strong; the place was taken by a continuous feeling of paranoia and terror, as if the environment itself was changing and going wrong. Besides the culturally rich Thai horror aspects, great sound effects, and the atmosphere that makes one feel afraid, ARAYA is a deeply psychological and cinematic horror movie that sticks in your mind even when the lights are off.
