Strange Antiquities is a narrative-driven puzzle adventure that puts you in the role of a curator of a bizarre museum. You are responsible for acquiring, restoring, and displaying not only old but also supernaturally-historied and power-dormant artifacts. The gameplay is divided into two equally fascinating loops: the detailed, direct intervention of the restoration of an artifact in your workshop, where it is necessary to clean, repair, and properly reassemble the object using a variety of tools, and at the same time you need to figure out the origins of the object by the clues; and the second, more esoteric, “contextual curation” challenge. This singular method asks you to organise your exhibits in specific orders or thematic groups in your gallery in order to calm their energetic nature, solve the environmental puzzles and gradually get the historical fragments from them. An accidentally placed cursed amulet could make the lights flicker. In contrast, the proper positioning of a set of spectral portraits might uncover a hidden map on their canvas.
