Ratatan’s gameplay is an adorable, frenzied symphonic of excessive numbers and cute abrasive behaviors, which, in fact, is the one that becomes the rethinking of monster-collecting strategy. Still, this time it is a vibrant, real-time, cute tend to the sea. Essentially, the main game revolves around the rhythm-command system, which is “Patapon” inspired, where not one army but a massive net of hundreds of unique “Rabitto” creatures is directed by the beats that you drum out, each of which has its own abilities and evolution paths. The screen is converted to the enchanted display of the characters that look cute and even more adorable as your legion, no matter how big, swarms across the battlefield, thus, they not only interact with the enemies but also take over the forts without asking for your command, and in this way, they complete the objectives in large numbers.

The strategic part of this game comes from the fact that you delightfully cause chaos; you must constantly juggle resource gathering to summon more allies, evolve key units mid-battle to counter specific threats, and master the rhythmic inputs to trigger powerful unified special attacks at the perfect moment. The game is compared to the one that trades micromanagement for macro-scale pandemonium; however, here, you do not carefully position a few units to win but release the drum-conducted flood of fluffy fervor that is so irresistible that it overwhelms enemy lines in a wave of charming, cheerful destruction.
