Gaucho and the Grassland is a rich open-world adventure-type game that mixes survival, exploration, and cultural storytelling elements in the large, unspoiled Pampas of South America. Players find themselves in the leather shoes of a gaucho—a horseman and cowboy who is highly skilled—who is riding through changing grasslands full of wild animals, such as wild horses and cattle that pumas chase. The game is all about the traditional gaucho skills: taming wild horses, herding cattle with a trusty boleadoras (throwing weapon), and asado campfire cooking to regain stamina. A day and night cycle and constantly changing weather make it necessary to be strategic in making decisions—would you run to save your herd from a storm or hide in a rustic pulpería (tavern) and trade your hides for supplies?

Incidents may occur anytime, such as encounters with cattle rustlers or characters from the region’s legends, including La Luz Mala (a ghostly legend), which keeps the story alive. The game is equipped with a deep honor system, and so the decisions you have made determine the relationships that you have with the rival gauchos, indigenous communities, and settlers. Grassland is now full of life—race through the endless stretches of golden fields, ride your horse, and make your fame.
