Bakso Simulator 2 takes you into the shoes of a street food vendor at a hectic city in Indonesia, where the deliciousness of recipes, understanding of customers, and managing a very busy kitchen are combined in a tasty and super-fast culinary simulation. The main gameplay revolves around “broth alchemy”; you have to mix five essential flavor components (salty, savory, spicy, sweet, and umami) by changing the amounts of each ingredient (beef bones, garlic, shallots, candlenuts, and secret spice blends), while VIP food critics tasting your dishes in real-time give you hints about the taste that needs improvement. Each customer visits you with different tastes and level of tolerances; a working person would like you to serve them quick and isn’t that bothered with the quality, a grandma would like you to serve her the real street-stall style, and the food vlogger would like you to serve the dish in the most visually appealing way if you fail to please them, it results in “combo-break” penalties that lower your daily income and vendor reputation. The “chaos timer” marks the periods of time when the orders keep accumulating; you are supposed to be boiling noodles while frying wontons, chopping spring onions, and pouring broth without overcooking or burning. As you explore, you come across five zones that serve different food: the Morning Market rush, the Night Alley hawker scene, the Mall Food Court, the Coastal Seafood Stalls, and the Mountain Retreat fairgrounds. All have their own new ingredients, recipe difficulties, and the weather is such that it changes the rates of broth evaporation or the strength of the spices. The “special request” system takes a customer and makes them request in ways that you have to come up with begrudgingly, “extra meatballs but no noodles” or “vegan bakso with mushroom broth”. As you keep on progressing, you will be able to get “supper upgrades” like a bigger cart, a faster chopping skill, or a loyalty-card program, which results in bringing back the same customer. Multiplayer “cook-off” mode puts two vendors next to each other; you have the chance to steal from each other by giving discounts or by accidentally spilling over their spice rack.
