Going Beyond Sunset shatters the archetypal first-person shooter formula with a mercilessly hard-core cyberpunk vibe, bringing a movement-oriented, fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping experience through a neon-lit, corrupt city. The game is made in the style of 90s shooters, prioritizing very fast movement, a huge range of unusual weapons, and complex level architecture rather than modern cover-shooting techniques. As a cybernetically enhanced soldier, you are sent to a dystopian city, your only task: slaughter gangs, military units of corporations, and biomechanical beasts in a highly brutal manner. The main gameplay is like a kinetic dance of destruction; you run, double-jump, and slide through expansive, labyrinthine levels, from alleys in the rain to the lobbies of giant corporation buildings, while wreaking havoc with different weapons, including rapid-fire plasma guns and a powerful disc-thrower that bounces off the walls. The unique “Cyber-Slide” feature in the game allows you to slide below enemy fire and through narrow spaces while not losing speed, at the same time connecting it naturally with a jump or a well-aimed shotgun blast.
